Happy 4th!

I know this looks goofy but it all came about when Shawn and I started reminiscing about school lunchboxes and foods from our childhood. (no, it wasn't a slow day in the studio, we're just easily distracted) Which led to fried bologna sandwiches. We thought it only fitting to have them in honor of the 4th of July. How American is that?! Luckily our food tastes have grown up, but I gotta say it hit the spot just like it did way back when, Wonder Bread and all.

That's hilarious! And who knew there is a recipe on how to make a fried bologna sandwich! Hate to admit this, but it looks yummy and takes me back to my childhood, too!

Fried bologna was the first thing I ever learn to "cook" at camp! My sister, the loser, forgot to take the red plastic rind off first and it melted in the pan! LOL

Thanks for the memories!

Wow, haven't had one since I was a kid. You two are funny, esp. for posting the recipe and artful food photo.

Do you remember that old Roger Miller song "Fried Bologna*, Eggs, and Gravy"?
*pronounced "baloney" of course

Mexican hat sandwiches is what we called them when I was growing up because that's what they look like when they're frying.
