A quilt of some sort, that's for sure.

My dad loved his typewriter, and was quite quick in a hunt-and-peck style. My mom gave it away after he died, and when I found that out I was so, so sad. It was a mint green one, with a matching case. If I ever come across a similar one you know I'll buy it in an instant.Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11786511163919657885noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3144832544285126067.post-15345463060214963912012-02-24T16:02:45.214-05:002012-02-24T16:02:45.214-05:00I was thinking last night how long it took for my ...I was thinking last night how long it took for my aunt to give up her typewriter and move up to a word processor. I think that is as far as she is going though, she is 85. She use to be a librarian in DC and did tons of research and just typed away. I love this fabric. I am thinking of something to make out if it for her. Maybe a wall hanging to hang over her word processor :)Kate Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15188179088732871204noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3144832544285126067.post-68444424288086001002012-02-23T22:50:21.249-05:002012-02-23T22:50:21.249-05:00My mother and I often talk about how her greatgran...My mother and I often talk about how her greatgranddaughters do not know what it is like to live in a world without tv, indoor plumbing, or electricity. Plus schools no longer teach long hand writing or typing on a typewriter. So, I really like your updated Urban Grit with the typewriters, fonts, and script. The colors suit me.
p.s. They ensure they're going to be there when we need them; they are our safety net. It's the same with these colors, which I really hadn't thought much about until I saw them matched here. Safe, inviting reassuring and timelessly beautiful. I love them!deedehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08579884426478338420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3144832544285126067.post-91398444767087568782012-02-23T11:12:23.591-05:002012-02-23T11:12:23.591-05:00I'm a sucker for fonts and old typewriters, to...I'm a sucker for fonts and old typewriters, too. Typewriters! Record players! Telephones with finger holes! Dictaphones! Tape recorders! Video tapes! Things we just knew how to use and things that they now call 'vintage'. We may be getting left behind in the technology race, but we were surrounded by some beautiful creations in our youth (and I'm not that old LOL). I used to love my mother's typewriter and the beautiful ink ribbon and when you made a mistake out came the white paper to blot it. Ah, the memories! :)sewkalicohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17134564334653563342noreply@blogger.com
