Quilting with the Artists

I'm here to share a few pictures of the fabulous time I just had at the Quilting with the Artists event in Historic St. Charles.

Mark Lipinski of Quilter's Home magazine regaled us with hilariously heartwarming stories of his beginning quilting days. He also gave us a sneak peek of his stunning embellishments and his new print line Katmandu for Troy fabrics.
Author and Kansas City Star Editor,
Edie McGinnis, shared her knowledge and fascinating history of feedsacks. Check out this amazing quilt she made entirely of different feedsacks! (Shown front and back).
Ann Hazelwood wowed us with her incredible red and white vintage apron collection. She has more than 200 of them! If you're in the vicinity of St. Charles, you'll have to check out her store Patches.

That embellishment is amazing. And from a bloke. I shouldn't be surprised, being a thoroughly liberated woman, but I am!!

Ahh, very amazing things to learn about. ... Hmmm.. ? Something seems to be missing? Wasn't there another speaker that day??

There was another amazing speaker that day. We got to hear all about how Michael Miller began, how the company name was chosen, what colors would be in vogue in the near future and who decides that. We also got to see some really cute quilts. A few of us were fortunate enough to spend some time together getting better acquainted while having dinner at the ghost-ridden Mother-in-Law House in St. Charles.

What amazing quilts! And I love the whole idea of collection of aprons cherishing just red and white.
