I’m a big fan of using minky for Machine Embroidery projects. Did you know you can use minky for a wide variety of projects with your embroidery machine? You can use an iron on interfacing, such as SF101, to make the minky stable with very little stretch. It can be used for zipper bags and totes that need that little bit of extra structure. You can also use a sewing adhesive like HeatNBond lite with minky! Be sure to use a pressing cloth and medium heat. For best results when embroidering, water soluble stabilizer is recommended. Water soluble stabilizer will keep the nap of minky in place and out of your stitching.

For my projects, I created a Slumber Party set at the request of my daughter using Beary Soft in Lilac and a mix of colors from the Coco collection. My daughter LOVES purple and unicorns, so win win! Beary soft made it easy! It’s a two way stretch minky, so I applied SF101 to the Unicorn bag front and back and HeatNBond lite to the appliqué face. It was effortless to press when done and it’s just so darn cute.

The Coco collection is hands down my favorite blender collection. It was the perfect match for the Beary Soft. I created a toiletries bag for her overnight items with an attached hair tie and bow. Patterns are available at parkerontheporch.com  Who doesn’t need a unicorn sleep mask for a slumber party? I used Beary Soft for the front (no interfacing) and Coco for the backside. The sleep mask pattern can be found at designsbylittlebee.com !

I rounded out the Slumber Party kit with a tote bag to carry it all. The big appliqué was applied to the Beary Soft with ease and came out so crisp! Be sure to use that water soluble stabilizer. Get the applique rainbow from  embroideryboutique.com to recreate it.

Thanks for having me here on the blog! I hope my projects inspire you to try minky with Machine Embroidery soon!
