Now for today's color story:
You could call this color story neutrals but I think there's so much more to it. This is the one story that really speaks to the time we're living in. In rocky times it says stability. It's solid but not stodgy. It's the wise investment in pieces that will never go out of style. It's the palette that can be cutting edge new or just plain edgy.
as we speak these just landed in my mailbox
personally I think to make this palette work, it's all about the contrast between the shades. If I want a combination to "pop" and not look drab it's my preferred tweaking technique. But then again that's personal.
note the cream "almost white" in these. Trust me it's intentional.
What's your thoughts on this timely yet timeless color story?
leave a comment and you could win a yard of all the
Urban Grit prints pictured above!
Winner to be announced next Wednesday!

So very sophisticated! Love it!
I like this, it is different from my usual bright, pink, etc stuff that I like. The colors look so good together and I bet a lot of them would work as a neutral with other colors too! Thanks for the chance to win.
I like it too. I agree with you; it fits the times in which we are living. But it also has an upscale Dia de los Muertos feel to it, too, that's not kitschy.
Thanks for the great giveaway; I'm loving this series of fabrics!
Very gritty! I really like the subdued tones and tough but chic patterns.
Very fitting for modern ant classic sewing too, the pattern in the foreground is timeless.
Love the mixture of colors and the theme! Definitely loving all the different MM fabrics :)
I love these colors, and agree, so much more than just "neutrals".
Great giveaway, thanks!
I agree, as well. I love all the bright color popular these days, but you also need a really good base to go from. These are a perfect example of how to be modern without a separate wardrobe for each new season.
This is a colorstory that I like because it is a modern take on neutrals. There are several neutrals quilts that have caught my eye lately that would look great in this palette. Thanks for the chance to win this colorstory bundle.
Awesome! These color stories just get better and better and every single one has been amazing in it's own way. I love this one especially!!
Each week I think I've found my favorite color story and then the NEXT color story comes out and I love it even more! Keep them coming!
I agree. Great for Day of the Dead.
Total grit. Almost steampunk.
Very modern fabrics. I love them!
I just love those fabrics, especially the skulls I see peeking in the stack of bolts. I would love to win these!!!

Love this gray because it is not a true gray, more of a taupey grey. It looks great with the other colors in the prints!
I want to see a runway show where high-fashion models take to the catwalk carrying bolts of these fabrics.
Love brown and black together!!
I love the black and white combinations.Modern and sophisticated at the same time.
I love these. They are so funky. Ooo, the things I could do with them.... x
Beautiful! Love them all!
I love the colors
wow..very elegant!
I would love to win...they are gorgeous :)
Thanks
I like the colors! Very subtle!
I really like the lacy one that's featured.
Timely yet timeless is the perfect way to describe this color story. They're comforting and blend well with other pops of color, too! Such a fan of these prints!
Très chic! I love it!
LOVE the prints (super into skulls) and the colours are great too!
now we are talking the color story that has invaded my quilting completely this past year. i have felt so at home with the neutrals...love this grouping!
Love this collection!
LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I can see new throw pillows for my living room and a super sassy skirt for my niece.
I'm really drawn to this color story, it feels very sophisticated yet approachable.
There is a hip sophistication to these colors, modern, edgy, and yet it has this rebelious gypsy feel to it at the same time. My mind is running a mile a minute with all the fantastic creations that can be made with these! I love how the creams/whites make the other hues pop!
Those skulls are just in time for crafting for Dia de los Meurtos and the additional combos are stunning.
LOVE these colors! Will have to grab me some of these! (Also noticed the new designs from "you know who" furniture on your inspiration board - totally in love with them, too! These fabrics would go so well!)
These colors draw me in. I adore the masculine lines of these fabrics.
Very steampunk! My almost 20 year old would love it!
Oh my word!!! I love the sophistication and elegance of it all! Absolutely gorgeous!
I adore the lace doilies pattern! Gorgeous......as is EVERYTHING you guys do.....and now after reading this I realise the name belongs to 2 people, I feel so clever!
I love a good base to start with and neutrals are the way to do it! An accent of color looks so much better when pair with neutrals.
I so love, love, love it!
The hard and soft elements of the patterns are edgy and fabulous! I cannot wait to create some amazing things with the collection.
Love the large skull print.. and the colours are great together.
Those are beautiful! So classy but rough at the same time!
so i apparently love all colors. :) there hasn't been a fabric combo that you've put up that i don't love. :)
Love these prints! I could use some in a quilt I'm currently planning!
I think it's interesting that all the colors can be called neutrals, but the way they contrast with one another is too dynamic to be called neutral. I like it!
This is like a marriage of the new neutrals. Lovely!!!
The black and brown combinations are beautiful!
very sheik, I love these fabrics!!

Oh my, how simply dreamy and earthy and simply marvelous............
It's not my color story, but it is the color story of a lot of my friends. Ans of course I need to make them something!
Gosh, that are MY colours. Would only sew things for moi and not for DD...
Exactly my cup of tea :)
my 5 step daughters and daughter in laws would be fighting over who i make what for with this group! I am not sure if replys are going thru so my email is tamaraboatright at hotmail dot com

I love the grunge mixed in with the more classic quilting prints.
Love these colors....can imagine what I can make already!
I appreciate that quilting fabric can be considered edgy ;)
I love this, it adds a touch of sophistication and maturity to the brighter, more saturated colors.
I love the colors. The gray is really pretty.
LOVE the colors!!
Love the colors.
now THIS is something I can get into. I love the way the palette almost mocks the playfulness of the prints. It's that little surprise--the unexpected in something that only seems demure from a distance but upon closer inspection has a wicked sense of humor.♥
It has livingroom written all over it! Thanks
I really like the color combination. Our couch is that same hard-to-define brown and I've always loved the way colors change when placed near it.
I'm not so crazy about the skulls, but that is probably a generational thing, because I can think of a lot of younger women who would be.
Thanks for the giveaway.

Great colors!
one of my winter goals is to add more browns to my wardrobe/life. weird goal i know. i've always leaned towards black but i am being to feel the love towards brown.
I am planning a neutral quilt after Christmas. I think it will very restful in the bedroom. But I see fighting to keep it from my DD.
Love the color scheme!
I love these colors. the mixing of the gray and the browns is a favorite. I'm using it on my bedroom at the moment.
This will inevitably be one of Michael Millers history makers. Papa Couture has just finished an Ashton City Bag in Frieda Frill Cocoa. I can't wait to get some Urban Grit on my my new line!
Love the story this set tells!
This is a really nice collectoin - darks haven't been much in my palette - but that may change. Thanks for showing more to us.
Love this one! Very urban and trendy yet can be classic too-

I love the incorportaion of skulls! I like the neutral but still fun color palate. So much I could do with this!
I love the piratey theme. Just in time for Halloween! or for kicks :P

I absolutely LOVE this line and I'm 46!!! I think you've hit an untapped market here....just love the color story.
Awesome fabrics!! Very cool & Edgy!! I'll definately have to buy some to make bedding for my new grandbaby!
This is one set of fabrics that won't likely be turned into a baby quilt. So grown up!
I"m saving all these for ME! o KIDS ALLOWED!
This color story really speaks to me. I've been looking for new quilt ideas and this is just perfect.
I have to say that this fabric reminds me of New Orleans. It just feels like NOLA. It kind of resembles the culture of the area. LOVE IT!
Love the adult feel to the fabric and the colors.

I love these fabrics, they go with anything and yet bring an edgy, yet classic look to any project.

Striking! These are certainly not mundane!

Wonderfully fun fabric!
Yes, these are definitely the colors that I wear most.
I think it's very sophisticated. Although I love a pop of color, these are colors you can always fall back on.
skklemm at gmail dot com
Can't go wrong with black! I like picking the "black diamond" or "hematite" alternative that is a great neutral when gold or silver is not floating your boat. I am loving the grey that is popping up too!
Colors reminds me of last day of autumn and beginning of winter days grey purple and white
Hi,
I´m a grey, mud, and dirt color wearing person, when it comes to clothes. Accesories can´t be pink, tuquoise and orange enough. This collection is perfekt for me. Let me win!
I love the browns and grays in this color story!
Been sewing clothes for my 3 year old for a little over a year now, always love your fabrics. I recommend them to those that want me to make their little ones clothes, too! Keep up them coming!
I think this would be a great set to have in your stash. They would serve as a basis for a lot of other things. I'd like to see the skull fabric done without the knitting and sewing needles. My son is asking for things made with skulls/ pirate theme. I'd also like to see a color story based on the birdsong fabrics. It seems to me that there are a lot of colors in those prints that don't have corresponding fabrics in the collection. As an online shopper, its always nice to have someone put the colors together for you.
Love it
Love these colors! Thanks for the chance to win.
Love it!!!!!!!
I adore that Urban Grit....it speaks to me! Lovely :-)
Thinking I have been remiss in not using these color combinations! In Love...
I love the prints. They remind me of designs that you might find on the Taj Mahal.
I love these colors, and agree, so much more than just "neutrals" Definitely much more than "Neutral"! It has something for every lady, from modern to modest! Love this prints, colors, and theme!!!
