We are so pleased to introduce our second Michael Miller Fabrics Brand Ambassador

Erica Jackman is a mother of three children and one bonus child as her and her husband became foster parents a year ago.

In addition to making quilts, She started writing quilt patterns three years ago and has completely fallen in love with that process. Erica makes both paper and PDF patterns and are available at shop.kitchentablequilting.com. You can follow along with her projects and progress on her blog or on Instagram!

1. What was your first sewing project?

I started sewing nine years ago when I was pregnant with my second child. My husband worked long hours, so I decided that I would buy a sewing machine and teach myself to make some simple baby items. Three months later, I made my first quilt and I have been hooked ever since.

2. What other hobbies do you enjoy?
There are other hobbies? At this point in my life, I feel lucky to just have time to sew. I do enjoy listening to audiobooks and playing the piano when I can squeeze them in.

3. What is your favorite color?
I love light, purple-y grays and cobalt blue.

4. Where is your dream vacation?
The Faroe Islands

5. Who taught you how to sew?
My mom never really enjoyed sewing, but she tried to teach me when I was a teenager. When I finally decided that I wanted to learn, my mother-in-law taught me a few things but I am mostly self-taught.

6. What food could you eat everyday?
I should probably say something healthy here, but the honest answer is pizza.

7. What do you want to be doing in five years?
I hope that I continue to challenge myself creatively and that I am continuing to write patterns that are fun and accessible to quilters of all skill levels. I also hope that after some diligent work, I am able to get my scraps under control sometime in the next 5 years!

Thanks so much Erika!
